Hot Melt Adhesives for Carton Sealing and Packaging Assembly

Packaging lines differ by carton coating, machine type, operating temperature and production speed. Jiajian supplies glue sticks for manual stations and hot melt pellets for semi-automatic or automatic packaging equipment. Share your carton surface, equipment and monthly volume so the team can recommend products for sample testing.

Procurement Challenges

Main Procurement Challenges in Carton Sealing

Carton sealing looks simple, but the wrong adhesive shows up as popped flaps, stringing or nozzle clogging on the line. These are the points that decide which product actually works.

1Carton coating varies. Uncoated, BOPP-coated and PET-coated cartons need different adhesives — one product rarely covers all three.
2Machine type and temperature differ. Folder-gluers, gear-pump melters and manual guns each run at different temperatures.
3Open time must match line speed. Too short and flaps pop; too long and compression time grows.
4Seasonal temperature swings. Warehouse and transport conditions affect bond strength across the year.
5Appearance and residue. Stringing or squeeze-out marks the carton and increases rejects.
6Blind model selection. Copying a competitor’s model number without testing on your own cartons is the most common failure.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between uncoated and coated carton adhesives?

Uncoated corrugated board absorbs adhesive, so a standard EVA pellet such as LBZ-404 is usually evaluated first. BOPP or PET-coated surfaces do not absorb, so LBZ-405-type products with higher tack are evaluated instead. The coating type must be confirmed before model selection.

Can I use glue sticks on an automatic packaging line?

Glue sticks are designed for manual and low-volume stations with glue guns. Automatic folder-gluers and gear-pump systems use pellets. If your line mixes both, we can supply both forms in one order.

What is the MOQ for packaging hot melt?

100kg for LBZ-404 / LBZ-405 pellets and 200kg for T-1108#B glue sticks. Trial quantities can be discussed for sample evaluation.

Can you match the open time of our current adhesive?

Share your current adhesive model, machine temperature and line speed. We will recommend the closest product and confirm by sample testing on your cartons.

What documents are available for packaging adhesives?

Test and compliance documents are confirmed according to the selected product, model, formulation and destination market.
